Pragmatism Series#11: Get Uncomfortable and Bold. Let the Power be with you!

“Embarrassment is the cost of entry.

If you aren’t willing to look like a foolish beginner, you’ll never become a graceful master.” — Unknown.

It is that time of the year in India a few states will witness a buzzing environment of campaigning, contestants give promises through a list of good deeds for executing it in the future if elected, and the Power battle will be won by those who will be able to influence the masses.

This event is characterized by two things:

  1. It’s a combination of the charisma exhibited to convince the crowd by the Political candidature
  2. The intelligence of the voters in choosing what is the best for their personal and social benefits

The latter part influences the outcome. It will be a beautiful and intriguing study of what affects the decision as it is uncertain until the polling day.

The Experience Vs. Psychological battle:

By digging deep into this event, it is the battle between Experience that is created and its Impact on Psychology.

Whether it is;

  • The Political campaign story
  • The Brand Image of the Candidates
  • Execution of a plan for a sustained perception (trust & loyalty)
  • Demonstration and Showcase of capabilities to create confidence
  • Ruling the Country

It’s imperative to align the various communication channels to convey the benefits with clarity to clear the cloud of unarticulated needs psychologically that are always under multiple external influences.

A Path to Carve out:

Focusing on ‘Experience Creation’ by the Policital Candidature to have a lasting Psychological impact on voter’s mind.

Experimentation and trying something new every time will make a difference. It sounds like an easy one at the outset, but it is all about managing one’s internal expectations.

  • An expectation of the deep-rooted beliefs and desires accumulated over a period are the guiding forces of life. Act as a compass
  • An expectation of continuous occurrence of the past pleasant experience and favorable outcomes
  • An expectation of past approaches, actions, and interactions continues to be useful in the future.

The internal expectation applies to an individual and political parties too. Actually, managing the expectations, in other words, is managing inhibitions by discouraging each encounter.

  • An inner voice that is voicing out “going against the usual plan.” An internal opposition within.
  • An external opinions or viewpoints by others or third parties on what could go wrong and paints the worst picture
  • Criticism by external parties for an unsuccessful development is pre-conceived

An Ironic Truth: Boldness and Uncomfortable feeling a Wining Combo:

Discouraging the Inhibitions or Embarrassments is the first step. It takes some courage or Boldness to counter them. The feeling of uncomfortableness will be felt all over. The best way forward and practice is to utter or hear or visualize consciously within the opposite of the inner voice or external viewpoints or outcome.

Feeling uncomfortableness at the start of any new initiative is one of the progressive symptoms, ultimately followed by Power.
