Pragmatism Series#13: Persist in Welcoming Change!

I was intrigued by a saying very recently, and it goes by “what you resist persist.” There can’t be a more Hard-hitting, Be-fitting, and Eye-opening statement than this one to emphasize the importance of embracing the Change.

Yes, Hard-Hitting to those who ignore it, Be-fitting to those who understand it, and an Eye-opener for those favoring a positive outcome.

“When you resist change, you are only making it come back at you even harder, to a point with no go except to embrace it.”

Decoding the above using the present situation will help us internalize the transition from what appeared to be a Problem initially that became a Challenge and then a Situation. A complete Mindset transformation to enable us to handle the Change.

A well-known example would be the ongoing Pandemic since 2020,

What started as a fatal Problem during 2020 threatening human lives now have many remedies and practices to safeguard the human race in the future. It was a Hard-hitter, a “Problem,” became a “Challenge” to the healthcare fraternity, Governing Bodies, and General Public to prepare a Be-fitting response, and now the coming waves of impacts will be just a knownSituation” to handle.

The difference in looking at “Problem” as “Challenge” and then as “Situation” is the intensity of the emotion behind it reduces to make us all take a decision and an action with a clear head.

Based on personal experience, mere replacement of the word “Problem” with “Situation” while facing and thinking of any daunting events or incidents has helped me keep my anxieties and fear under control. More importantly, it made me think clearly about a solution to get ahead.

A well-known motivational speaker (from Southern India) and a guiding force to many of his followers, during his discourse, asserted the importance of feeding one’s mind with words that resonate with positive emotions. I was fortunate enough to imbibe the crux of this session which acted as an Eye-Opener for me to attain positive outcomes continuously.

Welcoming Change is all about going through the Persistence phase, from high-intensity (Facing Hard-Hitting Problems) to low-intensity emotion (Imagining Eye-Opening Situations).
